What should I expect?
This experience is whatever you want it to be. I strive to make it as fun as I can. There is no pressure to do or be anything other than yourself. I am very easy going and will not pressure you into anything you aren't comfortable with. I appreciate you just as you are and all I care about is if you feel good after it is over.
We can keep it very simple or go all out. It is my job to capture who YOU are at this special time in your life. All you have to do its show up and embrace the experience.
If you have any specific questions, I will gladly answer. Just ask!
How many pictures will I receive?
A lot!
Where will my pictures be made?
Some of my favorite locations are:
Creasey-Mahan Nature Preserve in Goshen
Anchorage Trail
The Parklands
Cherokee Park
Nulu
The Highlands
Farmington
Locust Grove
There are locations like Yew Dell Gardens in Crestwood and Black Acre Farm both of which require a permit fee to use.
If a location is out of town there is a travel fee added to the fee.
If there is a place you have in mind, or something unique you want to do, please let me know. I have gone up in an airplane for a session, so I am up for anything.
What should I wear?
Wear what flatters you. Feel free to express yourself.
The more options we have the better. It can always be narrowed down.
Think about what season you like best and that may help you decide. Each season feels and looks different, so pick your favorite one to shoot in. A few people have done both spring and fall.
I suggest keeping the colors neutral with pops of color and accessories to accent. Black and white are always a good idea. Bright colors are good with the right backdrop.
Girls should consider getting their hair and makeup done. Guys should get a clean shave and haircut. It makes a huge difference in how your pictures come out.
What should I know so I can be prepared and ready?
Bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes, also hair spray and a brush.
Extra makeup is recommended. The camera washes it away. Having your hair and make-up done professionally is a good idea. You will be much happier with your photos.
For the guys, clean shave and fresh haircut are highly recommended.
Eat something beforehand and bring some water if it is hot. Trust me on this one.
Bring a good friend! They can assist with clothing changes and share the experience with you.
When will I get my photos?
Your photos are typically ready for viewing within one week, depending on how many people are in front of you.
What time of day will I need to be available?
Light is everything for me, so early morning right after sunrise, or a couple hours before sunset is best. I can also bring light to help if needed but the best times are when the light is prime.
Will you fix my skin and make my pictures look really good?
Yes absolutely! Although I do not over-process, I do fix blemishes and boost colors. Sometimes I use filters or process more artistically, but I always work on each image one at a time to make it the best I can.
